It's not strictly necessary. If you have an ensemble group that doesn't typically use a conductor, then the conductor doesn't need to be on camera. However, for larger groups such as orchestras or bands, while the conductor can be off-camera, we do recommend having them visible in the video. This helps our adjudicators get a comprehensive understanding of the performance.

Following our committee's discussions, we have decided to permit teams to enlist the assistance of staff or alumni. A Team may include up to one alumnus or tutor for every 10 student performers. This support performer may take part in the performance.

No. Under the current 2026–2027 structure, Team entries use the Video Competition route.

A Team must perform two contrasting works of its own choice within a combined maximum of 10 minutes, including the pause between the works. Choir / Vocal Group entries have no prescribed voicing requirement.

Choose the division of the oldest pupil performer. An adult conductor or accompanist does not affect the age division.
